Are you stressed?
I’m so stressed!
It’s such a regular thing to say and believe.
Are you stressed because you’re busy? Are you stressed because something is going on in your life that is difficult?
Or do you just know you’re stressed because you feel it in your body. You can’t really pinpoint what exactly is causing it, but you just feel off. Tired, or jumpy, or tingly. You know how it feels. We all do.
What is stress?
Stress can be defined as a state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation. Stress is a natural human response that prompts us to address challenges and threats in our lives.
Everyone experiences stress to some degree.
We are programmed to experience stress so that we address those challenges in our lives.
When is stress a problem though?
Recurrent stress over the same challenge can be a problem. The problem is unresolved and you just keep worrying about it over and over again. You’re losing sleep thinking about the problem, you’re asking all your friends what they think about the problem, you’re paralyzed with anger or fear about the problem.
What if you could neutralize the problem? Accept that whatever the problem is, it is there. It is a factor in your life but not your WHOLE life?
What if you could take one step back from the problem and just accept that right now, at this moment in time, it’s a problem. It won’t always be a problem, but for now, it is. And it’s scary.
AND you can manage.
You can manage your mind and your emotions.
No matter what the problem is.
That’s what we do in coaching.
No matter what is happening in your life, you learn how to manage your mind so that the stress is lessened. So that you can take action from a place of calm confidence, not from a fight or flight response.

We are all stressed, not all stress is bad. We can use stressful live events to make us more certain, more calm and more confident.
